The Tanzania Police School – Moshi (Tanzania Police School) was established by the English colonists in 1921 in Morogoro known as the Police Training School PTS. In 1930 the school was moved to Dar – es – Salaam Kilwa Road area and when it arrived in January 1954 it was moved to the city of Moshi in the current location with the capacity to teach a total of 600 students. Before the School was moved there, the area was used by the Colonial Army known as KING’S AFRICAN RIFLES (K.A.R). Since it was established, this school has been changed names frequently including Police Training School (PTS), Security College (CCU) Moshi, Moshi Police Academy (CCP), Moshi Police Academy (Moshi Police Academy – MPA) and now Tanzania Police School Moshi (TPS). The Tanzania Police School – Moshi is one of the five Police Colleges in the country that conduct police training, the others being the Dar es Salaam Police Academy, the Zanzibar Police Academy, the Kidatu Police Academy and Marine Police Academy – Mwanza. Tanzania Police School – Moshi is located in the North of Moshi Municipality on the road that goes to Sungu Mweka Kibosho Division, either this school on the East side is facing the Co-operative University (MOCU) and Old Moshi Secondary School through the road that goes to the Hospital of Appeal KCMC Smoke. The west is bordered by another road that goes to Kibosho Hospital and International School of Tanganyika and Kibo Secondary School.
